Amy graduated from Ashland University in 1992, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Philosophy. Upon graduation, she went to work for Creative Associates, Inc. in Mansfield, Ohio, an advertising and marketing agency. She worked for Creative Associates until the day it closed in December of 2000.

In March of 2001, Amy was hired as the Executive Director of the Ashland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, a division of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce. Her main function is to promote the Ashland Area as a convention and tourist destination to regional, state, national, and international visitors. Or, as she likes to call it, to be the #1 cheerleader for Ashland! Amy participates in various ways in this community that she loves.

She is a member of the Kiwanis Club (past President) and now Co-Chairs the new Kiwanis Safety Town Program, Ashland Public Library Board of Trustees (current Vice President), Co-founder and Chair of the Mohican Wildlife Weekend Planning Committee, Ashland Chautauqua Committee (Co-Chair), Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor Board (past President), Ashland Main Street Board (current Secretary), and Friends of Brookside Golf Course (PR committee). She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Ashland and 2009 graduate of the Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy. She served on the board of the Ohio Travel Association for three years and the Ashland Bicentennial Steering Committee from 2010 to 2015. She recently accepted the position of Interim Director of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce.

Amy is very interested in building relationships within our community and working together to make Ashland the best place to live, work, play, and raise a family. Her husband, Russell, is a probation/parole officer for the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Together they have one son, James, who is the light of their lives.
