Norman Jones joined the Ohio State Mansfield campus in 2004 as a member of the English Department. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his B.A. from Yale University. He teaches courses in 20th- and 21st-century American literature, film, and the Bible. He has published four books and numerous essays exploring intersections among literature, sexuality, and religion. He won the 2010 Mansfield campus Award for Excellence in Scholarship as well as the 2012 Mansfield campus Award for Excellence in Service. Prior to becoming Dean & Director of the campus, he served as Faculty President, English Program Coordinator, Associate Dean, and then Interim Dean & Director. Norman and his wife, Heidi, live in Mansfield with their son, Riley, who is a fourth-grader in the Mansfield City Schools system.
