Doomed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton finally broke her silence on longtime associate Harvey Weinstein; condemning the high-powered studio executive over his sexual assault allegations but refusing to elaborate on how or when she’d return his ‘dirty’ donations.
Clinton made the comments while speaking with CNN, saying she “was just sick” when she heard the news of Weinstein’s decades-long history of sexual abuse, claiming this was a “different side of a person” she had known for years.
“Would you have called him a friend?” asked CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.
“Yes, I probably would have,” said Hillary. “So would so many others. People in Democratic politics for a couple of decades appreciated his help and support.”
“Would you give the money back?” Zakaria pressed the former presidential nominee.
“Well, there’s no one to give it back to,” Clinton said. “What other people are saying, what my former colleagues are saying is they’re going to donate it to charity, and of course I will do that.”
