Meet KFI's Employee Of The Month For January 2021 -- Morgan Cook!

We might be a little biased, but we have an amazing crew here at KFI. They're the hardest working people in radio.

So each month, we like to present one of these employees with the KFI Employee of The Month honor to recognize these amazing people and to give you a little more insight into those that bring you the programming you love each day, and the best part is that these winners are chosen by their peers.

Each Employee of the Month will receive a few fun prizes, a certificate, an official award, will be featured in an on-air promo and their name will be enshrined on a perpetual plaque that will be located in our building.

So we'd like to introduce you to KFI's first Employee of the Month for 2021 ---- Morgan Cook!

Morgan first started at KFI back in 2017, and she has highly entertained us ever since. She's funny, eccentric, truly one-of-a-kind all wrapped up in a crop top and bucket hat!

But, this is not the first amazing honor Morgan has received, for those of you who don't know...Morgan was voted Time Magazine's Person of The Year in 2006. It's true....Google it! (It's the reason her resume stood out out!)

Here's what some of Morgan's coworkers had to say about her:

"She's a very hard worker and is always willing to jump in and work on a show when people are sick."
"She's hard working and always comes to work with a great attitude."
"Always reliable. Always available. Definition of a 'spotter.' Willing to learn and do it all."
"She's the 'go-to' person for any fill-in and she's great at it. She's fun to be around and is always willing to help anyone. It's a crime she hasn't won so far!"
"She adds great energy to any show she works on."
"Always willing to jump in a a moment's notice. Hard working. Dedicated and freaking hysterical."

We asked Morgan a few questions so you can get to know her a little better.

What made you decide on a career in radio?

"I never 'decided' on a career in radio. My face just chose that life for me! I actually started my career as a technical TV news director for FOX and NBC. But I left that job to drive out to California with no job, no money, friends, etc. KFI just happened to be the first place to take me in...and now y'all can't get rid of me. *insert cowboy emoji here*"

What's do you like most about your job?

"My favorite part about working at KFI is definitely the fact that everyone LET'S ME BE ME!!! I can't explain how important that is to me...and how thankful I am."

Any pet peeves?

"I think my biggest pet peeve is when pets peeve."

Favorite hobbies

"Making jokes that people think are 'too soon', pushing people's buttons, pushing the limit on social media and not having the coronavirus."

Favorite food / drink?

"I will literally drink and eat anything! But I usually pefer the borderline expired vegetables from my neighborhood Ralphs."

What does the perfect 'day off' for you consist of?

"Perfect day off is working out, reading, dancing alone in my house, making some out-of-pocket comments on social media, winning the lottery, AND not getting a street sweeping parking ticket!"

What's the one thing that people don't know about you?

"I feel like a lot of people who hear or see me talking crazy will automatically think I 'don't care,' or 'I don't have any emotions"...But in reality, I care a TON!!! and all of the crazy thngs I say/do are intentional -- and usually have a much deeper meaning. Simply put, I feel like the main reason I'm on this earth is to help people fall in love with themselves, and to laugh a ton!"

Any advice for anyone just starting in the radio business?

"The same exact advice I would give anyone in ANY career... Find out WHO you are, then BE YOURSELF, 24/7!!! It is so powerful to show up in life everyday as your true self. From my experience, that's when things in life truly start "clicking" for you. Love yourself and follow your intuition. The rest will follow, even if it's just a bunch of HR reports filed against you. Live, Laugh, Love Baby!"

You can follow Morgan on her personal Instagram and Twitter @morganvictory BUT...BE WARNED.....It's not for the faint of heart!
