Shelby Sectional Champs: DeVito Drops 31, 1 of 4 Whippets in Double Figures

The Shelby Whippets won a sectional championship on Thursday, at home vs Kenton, 72-43.

The Whippets held an 8 point lead at halftime, 27-19, but outscored the Wildcats 45-24 in the 2nd half.

Shelby's Brayden DeVito scored a game-high 31 points, which included five 3-pointers - plus a DUNK!

Landon Foltz had 12, 10 of which came in the 3rd quarter in a key stretch for the Whippets. Shelby also got 11 points from Gavin Miller and Michael Shepherd chipped in 10.

Kenton (2-20) was led by Issac Anderson with 13 points

#2 seed Shelby (15-7) now will take on #1 Ontario (15-7) for the 3rd time this season in the District Semi-Final on Tuesday (6 pm) at Mansfield Senior High School. You can hear the game live on WMAN.
