Mansfield City Council this week unanimous approved the development plan to build a Buc-ee's Travel Center in Richland County at the interchange of I-71 and Ohio 39. Buc-ee's based in Texas, has 55 locations open in 12 states, according to RichlandSource.com. The 75,000 square foot travel center would bring around 200 jobs to the area.
Richland County Commissioner, Tony Vero, released a statement: "the project represents a significant investment that will attract visitors from across the state and beyond." Vero went on to say it will strengthen the local economy, showcasing Richland County to millions of travelers.
ODOT estimates daily traffic on I-71 around Mansfield between 35,000 - 40,000 vehicles.
