High Speed Chase: Man Arrested After Car Crashes into House in Lucas

A high speed chase in the overnight hours ended in a car crashing into a home in the village of Lucas on Thursday.

The Mansfield Post of the Highway Patrol told WMAN the pursuit happened as a trooper attempted to pull the vehicle over on US 42, due to no headlights at 3:23 am.

The car took off at a high rate of speed down State Route 39, where it crashed into a garage and house on Main Street in Lucas. The home sustained significant damage, also a person in the home was injured, and a couple cars in the garage, also were damaged.

The driver, a 20 year old man from Columbus, fled the scene and was located a short distance from the scene by a Mansfield Police K9. He was taken into custody.
