Ontario, Ohio – The Ontario Police Department will host its Annual Awards Banquet on February 26, 2026, recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service of its officers and staff over the past year.
A highlight of this year’s ceremony will be the recognition of Ofc. Roose and Ofc. Martin for their lifesaving actions on February 17th, when they successfully utilized a LifeVac anti-choking device to save a community member experiencing a critical airway obstruction. Their decisive response and training directly resulted in a life being saved.
In attendance at the banquet will be representatives from the LifeVac team based in New York. The team will join the department in recognizing the officers’ swift and effective actions and in expressing appreciation for their commitment to public safety.
Chief Hill stated, “The actions of Ofc. Roose and Ofc. Martin reflect the very best of our profession. Their ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure exemplifies our department’s commitment to protecting life and serving our community.”
The Annual Awards Banquet serves as an opportunity to publicly recognize the achievements and service of Ontario Police personnel while reinforcing the department’s ongoing dedication to excellence, training, and community partnership.
