The Madison Township Fire Department responded to a call at 6 am on Thursday morning for a report of a vehicle into a house and a fire on Hickory Lane.
Crews arrived and found a small car into the structure and both were on fire. Firefighters encountered heavy fire in a corner of the structure and the fire traveled into the attic. They were able to extinguished the blaze.
The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene before emergency crews arrived, but they were located shortly after by the Richland County Sheriff's Office.
The home was vacant when the incident took place.
