Ontario Outscores Shelby 23-0 in 4th, to Advance to 1st Ever Regional Final

The Ontario Warriors are headed to play for a Regional Championship for the 1st time in school history, after they beat Shelby, 49-48, in one of the most epic playoff games ever played in Richland County.

Ontario trailed by 22 points after 3 quarters of play, and went on to outscore Shelby 23-0 in the 4th quarter to win the Regional Semi-Final at Arlin Field. The crowd was estimated by RichlandSource.com to be over 8,000 people.

Bodpegn Miller scored 5 TD's, including the game winner with :12 seconds to play in the game, and totaled 503 yards on the night. Miller rushed for 209 yards, and 2 TD's, while throwing for 294 and 3 more scores.

Warriors running back Mason Vantilburg went over 1,000 yards on the year, as he rushed for 130 yards and a TD.

Landon Sowards, who is just a tackling machine at linebacker for Ontario, had the games biggest play with 1:52 to play in the 4th, and the Warriors down 48-40, when he tackled Brayden Devito of Shelby in the end zone for safety. Ontario got the ball back, then drove down for the game winning score, which included freshman kicker, Kooper Kilgore, connecting on the game winning extra point.

Shelby QB Brayden Devito was incredible once again, as he scored 6 TD's and 439 yards of offense. DeVito ends an amazing year with 61 TD's and over 5,000 total yards.

Ontario (12-1) now plays Sandusky Perkins (12-1) in the Regional Final on Friday, November 22nd.
