FBI Arrests Ashland County Man for alleged involvement in January 6th Riot

An Ashland County man has been arrested by the FBI for his alleged involvement in the January 6th, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

According to RichlandSource.com, Jeffrey Newcomb, 41, of Polk, is facing federal charges for allegations that he brought a metal Trump sign to the Capitol, and along with other rioters, used the sign as a battering ram against a line of police officers.

The FBI received a tip about the Ashland County man’s alleged involvement in April of 2023.

More than 1,520 people have been charged in connection with the events on January 6th of 2021. Over 80 of those individuals have been from the state of Ohio.
