Fatal crash on Rock Road North near Stein Road
Jackson Township – The Mansfield Patrol Post responded to a report of a one vehicle crash on Rock Road North near Stein Road, in Jackson Township, at 9:19 PM on October 21, 2024.
The preliminary investigation shows a 2017 Dodge Charger was traveling north on Rock Road North. The Dodge Charger was driven by Louis D. Rittenberry, 57, of Shelby, Ohio. The Dodge Charger traveled off the left side of the roadway and up an embankment. The Dodge Charger re-entered the roadway and traveled off the right side of the roadway into a creek. Mr. Rittenberry was transported to Avita Ontario Hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
The Shelby City Fire Department and Westside Towing assisted on the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
