The Ashland Arrows improved to 7-0 on the season on Friday, as they beat Mansfield Senior, 35-3, at Community Stadium.
Arrows QB, Nathan Bernhard, accounted for all 5 Ashland scores, as he threw for 3 and ran for two more TDs. Bernhard on the night, ran for 214 yards on 14 carries, which included a season long 88 yard TD run in the 1st quarter to give the Arrows the lead for good.
Mansfield Senior (1-6, 1-3) got an interception from Guy Trader, and his return of more than 50 yards, set them up for a 41 yard field goal by Griffen DeBolt to take the early 3-0 lead in the opening quarter. It was the first time this year at the TYgers scored in the 1st Q.
Bernhard's other TD run was from 54 yards out, while both of his TD passes went to Dakota Kruty from 29 and 31 yards.
Ashland's defense was very good, led by Tyler Sauder (6 tackles) and Gunnar Lacey, who added multiple tackles and a sack.
The Arrows, now 3-0 in the OCC, travel to West Holmes on Friday night.
