On July 30th,2024, METRICH detectives conducted an investigation into illegal drugs entering into the Mansfield, Richland County community. With the assistance of Mansfield Police and the Richland County Sheriff Office a vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Dawson Ave and Maple St., Mansfield, Ohio. The operator of the vehicle Charles Feagin,52 was arrested and Mansfield Police K-9 “Lucas” alerted on the vehicle and a search of the vehicle resulted in (5) ounces of suspected cocaine. METRICH Detectives then executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Richland County Sheriff Office and Bellville Police department at Mr. Feagins hotel room at 880 State Route 97 west, Bellville, Ohio. That search resulted in an additional (17) ounces of suspected cocaine. Charles Feagin was charged with Possession of Cocaine (F-1) & Trafficking in drugs (F-1) and is being held at the Richland County jail. Further charges will be presented to the Richland County Prosecutors office.
METRICH Detective Justin Ady stated this was a direct result of cooperation amongst partner Law Enforcement agencies and tips received from the community.
The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to seek those that pollute our streets with narcotics and Lt .Blust encourages all citizens to continue reporting suspected drug activity.
