In Mifflin Township, the trustees on Monday voted to ban the commercial sale, cultivation and processing of recreational marijuana.

RichlandSource.com reports, the move comes following interest from a company in buying some property on Crider Road, off of I-71 and exit 176, to build a cannabis dispensary.

16 people attended the meeting and spoke before the vote.

One trustee said, there are a lot of unknowns, while another mentioned, he would be open to revisiting cannabis sales later. He gave one example, if a year from now, Mansfield doesn’t have any problems, then they could revisit it.

The company that showed interest, PharmaCann, has a cultivation facility in Licking County and dispensaries in Buckeye Lake and Monroe Ohio.
