A 28 year old Mansfield man has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to a felony charge of importuning.

According to RichlandSource.com, the written plea was entered on behalf of Bryce Witchey by his defense attorney.

Witchey was arrested back on June 13th for allegedly seeking sex with a juvenile.

Mansfield Police received a 9-1-1 call from a woman and said, Witchey was talking to her 8 year old daughter on social media, Thursday evening, and she recorded the on-screen conversation. Witchey, after a warrant was prepared, was taken into custody.

Bond was originally set at $5 million, but was reduced to $500,000.

As of Wednesday, Witchey remained in the Richland County jail. If released, a Richland County Court Magistrate ordered - that he be placed under house arrest and wear an electronic monitoring device.
