Mansfield Police Announce Road Closures for Pride Parade, Soap Box Derby

The Mansfield Division of Police would like to advise the community of upcoming road closures and traffic delays due to the Mansfield Pride Parade and Festival and the Soap Box Derby being held downtown in separate locations on June 22, 2024. Starting June 21, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. for Mansfield Pride Festival set up the following streets will be closed to thru traffic: Park Avenue West and East between Walnut Street to Diamond Street; North and South Main Street between 3rd Street and South Park Street; and N. Park Street between N. Diamond Street and N. Main Street.

On Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 4:00 a.m. N. Main Street between 3rd Street and 6th Street will be closed to all traffic for set up of the Soap Box Derby and will remained closed until approximately 6:00 p.m. 4th Street between N. Walnut Street and N. Diamond Street will also be closed for the Soap Box Derby during these same hours. All municipal parking lots will be accessable downtown from either North Diamond Street or North Walnut Street. Detour signs will be posted to redirect traffic around the event.

Also on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Marion Avenue between Park Avenue West and Carpenter Road will be closed for Pride Parade line up. There will be no thru traffic on Wood Street from W. 1 st Street or S. Benton Street from Park Avenue West. Blymyer Avenue will be closed and only accessible to EMS or Mememorial Home Employees. The parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and will head east on Park Avenue West to Walnut Street where it will turn south on S. Walnut Street to disperse between Park Avenue West and W. 2 nd Street. Areas impacted by the parade will be all roadways intersecting Park Ave West between between South Benton Street and South Diamond Street. Perimeter barricades and detour routes will be posted on W. 2nd Street and W. 3rd Street. These closures will last until approximately 12 noon. A map showing all road closures and best routes of travel to downtown parking and businesses is attached.
