Officials in the Mansfield City Schools are considering a new tax levy for the November ballot.
According to RichlandSource.com, despite cost saving measures, more funding is needed. Interim Treasurer, Barbara Donohue, said, expenditures are outgrowing revenues.
Superintendent, Stan Jefferson, and Donohue, are reviewing the budget and looking for ways to save.
Jefferson said, the district is trying not to make cuts, where it would affect kids in the classroom.
The school board has been discussing the possibility of a new operating levy for a few months, which could be a property tax, income tax or combination of both.
