Pioneer Carpentry Class Renovates Bleachers at Crestline Softball Field

Pioneer Completes Renovations to Bleachers

The Carpentry Class at Pioneer Career and Technology Center in Shelby has renovated bleachers at the Crestline Junior Softball Field.

Led by instructor Justin Tuttle, the class, made up of juniors and seniors, spent last week replacing old wood, painting the metal support frames, and installing new lumber.

The seniors in the class completed the same project at the Crestline Little League Complex in the fall of 2022.

The lumber for the project was purchased from Carter Lumber in Shelby and delivered by the Village of Crestline Service Department. Additionally, the paint and hardware were purchased from Holcker Hardware in Crestline.

The project was fully funded by Crestline Youth Sports.

Crestline Youth Sports President Clayton Herold said, “We are grateful for the relationship we have with Pioneer Career and Technology Center, and we are pleased to provide projects that give the students valuable experience in their field of study. Additionally, we hosted two groups of Pioneer students in April during their Community Service Day. Those students hung up banners, cleaned our concession stand and bathrooms, and put down mulch in the flowerbeds. Without the help of the Pioneer students, our facilities wouldn't look as nice as they do today”.
