The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Center receives gift from Sutton Bank to support Emergency Assistance Program

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Ashland is honored to announce that Sutton Bank has awarded them a grant in the amount of $10,000 to support the Emergency Assistance Program.

“We are so grateful for the local, ongoing support of Sutton Bank,” says Dan Lawson, PhD, Director of Community Relations and Development for the Ashland Kroc Center. “With the continued rise in cost of living and the growing demand for our Emergency Assistance Program, the timing couldn’t be better.”

In 2023, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center helped Ashland County residents through the following services:

  • 290 Ashland County families were provided with nights of lodging when they had nowhere else to go
  • 217 housing applications were completed to help Ashland County families
  • 202 Ashland County households received emergency assistance with gas, electric and water bills

“This is in addition to The Ashland Kroc Center’s Food Pantry and Christmas Assistance Programs, which have also experienced a significant increased demand,” explains Dr. Lawson. “This gift from the Sutton Bank will help us continue these vital services and enable us to keep up with the increased demand.”
