On 04/08/2024 Officers responded to 270 W 3rd St. at approximately 5:18 pm after receiving a call that a deceased person had been found inside the residence.
Electricians advised they found the deceased while working on the home. Upon arrival Mansfield Police Officers secured the residence and cordoned off the area. Major Crimes Detectives did locate human remains in the attic of the residence.
The Richland County Coroner's Office responded and advised that Mercyhurst University's Forensic and Biological Anthropology Team will be contacted to process the scene. Mercyhurst will conduct their processing on 04/09/2024.
