Mansfield Senior improved to 11-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference on Friday, as the defeated New Philadelphia at home, 45-40.
The victory was #15 on the year for the TYgers, and was a win over a quality opponent with double digit wins, which will help their tournament resume.
Kyevie Roane led Mansfield Senior with a team high 18 points, which included knocking down 2 huge free throws in the final seconds, which made it a 2 possession game. Roane had 3 key blocks on defense, which prevented easy baskets for New Philadelphia.
Senior High led 9-4 after the 1st quarter, but the Quakers tied the game at 19 at the half. New Philadelphia took a 2 points lead into the final quarter, but Mansfield Senior held the Quakers to just 6 points in the final frame to post the win.
Colton Slaughter led New Philadelphia with 20 points.
