The cost to repair and resurface Claremont Avenue in Ashland, last fall, was much higher than the original estimate.
Mayor, Matt Miller, told WMAN, the original price tag was around $2.5 million, but the final bill reached around $6 million.
Miller said, there were so many unexpected twists and turns in the project. Crews found various layers of materials under the road base and a water line, which was encased in concrete.
