The city of Mansfield has given just over $2.5 million in "one-time" bonuses to its employees since 2022.
According to RichlandSource.com, those payments, in the last 19th months, have went to more than 400 employees.
Most of the money has come from Mansfield's American Rescue Plan Act Funds, after being approved by City Council. Some of the bonuses were for recruitment and retention purposes.
Full-time, non-union workers receiving bonuses, which HR Director, Sharon May, said, was currently mayor, Tim Theaker's, decision to show parity with union workers, who have already received bonus payments.
