A 40 year old Madison Township man has been arrested and bond set at $1 million from an incident on Saturday.
According to RichlandSource.com, William Smith was arrested on Sunday and charged with felonious assault and rape. The Sheriff’s report says: deputies were called to the hospital on Saturday evening after a woman had been brought into the emergency room with severe bruises. Medical staff told authorities her eyes were swollen shut and was bleeding from her ears. A doctor also stated, there are signs of possible sexual assault.
The case remains under investigation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday for Smith, who was out on probation from a 2022 drug possession conviction.
