Mansfield Senior Falls To Defending Champs, Ends Great Season at 10-3

Mansfield Senior jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter of the Division III Regional Semi-final vs Toledo Central Catholic on Friday at Clyde High School, but the Irish came back to defeat the TYgers, 41-10.

Central Catholic scored 41 unanswered points and outgained Senior High in yards in the 2nd quarter, 214 to 5, to take control of the game. Mansfield scored on a 45 yard run by QB Duke Reese on their opening drive and then, after a fumble recovery by Symirr Phillips, got a 39 yard field goal from Quinten Debolt to go up 10-0. TCC got big plays from their star WR, Jaylen Watson, and big plays from running backs, Marquan Braswell ( 111 yards and 1 TD) and Tyler Morgan ( 59 yards and 2 TDs). Irish QB, Terry Collins threw 2 TD passes and scrambled for 56 yards. The Central Catholic defense played really well, holding Mansfield to just 7 first downs and had 2 INT's. The TYgers end a great season, which included their 1st outright OCC title since 2013, at 10-3 overall. (aired 11/10/23)
