Shelby's offense put up over 600 yards in their 71-41 playoff win Friday over Van Wert in the Division IV Regional quarterfinal at the Whippet Athletic Complex.
The story of the night was the defense, as the teams were just trading TD's back and forth. The game was 35-34 at halftime in favor of Shelby, but the Whippets nearly pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. Van Wert's only TD came, as the starters left the game with just over 2 minutes to go. Shelby outscored Van Wert 36-7 in the 2nd half.
Whippets running back, Skyler Winters rush for 100 yards and score 4 TDs. QB Brayden Devito, was amazing again, scored 5 total TDs ( 2 rushing and 3 passing) and Issaiah Ramsey had another huge game, which included an 87 yard TD catch to put the game out of reach.
Shelby (10-2) will now take on Glenville (9-3) in the Regional Semi-Finals on Friday.
