On 9/15/23 at 0712hrs Crawford County Sheriff Deputies along with Whetstone Twp Fire Department and Life First EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Monnett New Winchester Rd at State Route 100. Preliminary investigation indicates Christy Smith was traveling southbound on State Route 100 in her 2018 Nissan Roge. Carrie Cochran was traveling westbound on Monnett New Winchester Rd in her 2009 Chevrolet HHR, when Carrie failed to yield at the intersection at Monnett New Winchester Rd and State Route 100 causing the collision. Carrie was transported from the scene by Med Flight and Christy was transported by squad. The investigation is still under investigation.
