$3 million bond set against Ashland man accused of killing son-in-law

An Ashland County judge set a $3 million bond Monday against a man accused of killing his son-in-law six months ago. According to Ashland Source.com, 58-year-old Howard D. Walters, of Ashland, is accused of shooting 41-year-old Kurtis Harstine in January. An Ashland County grand jury indicted Walters on July 21 with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery and three counts of tampering with evidence. Walters could receive the death penalty if convicted on all counts, according to the Ashland County Prosecutor.
