Low Ridership: RCT To Stop Route To Shelby

RCT, Richland County Transit, is ending their fixed route to the city of Shelby.

RichlandSource.com reports, the reason is due to lower ridership, which has been averaging just 2 riders per hour.  The fixed route will be discontinued on July 28th and the Dial-a-ride service to Shelby will also end.   The service from Mansfield to Shelby has been running for the last 13 years and Shelby mayor, Steve Schag, said, he understands, it was the right decision.
