State Route 13, 96 Accident: Spills 125 Gallons Of Fuel, Oil On Road, Ditch

A crash in the northern part of Richland County spilled, an estimated, 125 gallons of motor oil and diesel fuel on the roadway and into the ditch.

The highway patrol said, the accident took place at the intersection of State Route 13 and State Route 96. An 18 year old male from Ashland collided with a semi, which then saw the commercial vehicle go off the right side of the road and into the ditch. The semi driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS crews to the hospital in Mansfield. The man from Ashland, and his juvenile passenger, both were not injured.

The roadway was closed down and the EPA was contacted to cleanup, as crews work to mitigate the impact of hazardous materials from leaking into the watershed.
