On 05-30-2023 at 9:15 AM, The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on SR 4 south of Lemert Rd. Also responding was Liberty Twp FD, Chatfield Twp FD, Lykens Twp. FD, Life First EMS, Bucyrus City EMS and Lifeflight.
Latoya Griffea, age 34, Bucyrus, was northbound on SR 4 in a 2006 Buick Lucerne. Vanessa Lambert, age 28, Bucyrus, was southbound on SR 4 in a 2014 Ford Flex. Griffea went left of center and overcorrected and lost control. Griffea struck Lambert and both vehicles went off the East side of the roadway.
Lambert was flown to St. Vincent’s hospital by Lifeflight. Griffea was pronounced deceased at the scene by Assistant Coroner, Dr. Hope.
ODOT was called to shut the roadway down and set up detours. Lemaster’s Towing came to the scene and removed both vehicles.
This crash remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
