The Loudonville School board of education has approved a contract for a new security system.
RichlandSource.com reports, the system will give district staff a small electronic device that looks like an ID badge, which can contact law enforcement or alert a school response team with the push of a button.
The cost of the new security system is just over $138,000, but $20,000 will be covered by a grant through the state of Ohio.
School administrators can put the school on lockdown via a mobile app. It will be installed for next school year.
