The size of the city of Ashland could increase in the near future.
According to RichlandSource.com, the city, along with some property owners, has petitioned the Ashland County Commissioners to annex 91 acres of land, located near US 250 and I-71.
Mayor Matt Miller said, Ashland has been pursuing this because of the economic benefits for businesses. One of the properties in the annexation is being looked at by a developer for possible apartments or a hotel.
A hearing for the request will take place in early July.
