Richland County Prosecutor, Gary Bishop, has announced he is retiring, effective, Friday, April 14th.
This is the 2nd time Bishop has announced that he was stepping down. The first time came back in late January, citing health reasons. RichlandSource.com reports, Bishop, last month on March 16th, rescinded those plans to retire, but now has changed his mind and will retire.
Bishop informed the commissioners on Wednesday, who have named Jodie Schumacher take over as the acting county prosecutor. Schumacher, currently is the First Assistant Prosecutor in Richland County.
