Man Arrested In Butler After Shots Fired, Search Warrant Finds Guns, Drugs

One person has been arrested after shots were fired early Tuesday morning in Butler.

RichlandSource.com reports, officers responded just after 6 a.m., where a subject was walking the sidewalk with a gun and pointing it at vehicles traveling through the area.

Responding officers were met with gunfire, as the man went inside the residence on Cleveland Street. The suspect later emerged from the home and was arrested. A search warrant was obtained and found multiple firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia. The Ashland County Bomb Squad was called to the scene to retrieve some of the items, which was done out of caution.

Butler Police Chief, Eric Winbigler, said, public safety is their primary concern and thanked all law enforcement who responded, which included - the Richland County Sheriff's Office, Highway Patrol, along with the Butler and Bellville Police Departments.
