Early Morning Fire Monday In Mansfield At Riva Ridge Drive Apartment

Two people were taken to the hospital in Mansfield for smoke inhalation, after a fire early Monday morning.

Mansfield Fire Chief, Steve Strickling, said, the call came in around 2:45 am to an 8 unit apartment on Riva Ridge Drive, where there was heavy fire in the roof area. No other injuries were reported, but the roof structure is considered an entire loss and fell into the 2nd floor. The bottom floor apartments, sustained heavy water damage. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The Red Cross was called in to assist the residents of the fire.
