HS Boys Basketball: TYgers Deny Lex Outright OCC Title In OT Thriller

Mansfield Senior won their 4th straight game on Friday with a 54-53 overtime win over Lexington, which denied the Minutemen the outright Ohio Cardinal Conference Title. Senior High led by as many as 10 points in the game, but Lex tied the game at 44-44, on a layup off an air ball, right as the buzzer sounded. The TYgers were able to get clutch baskets and free throws from Kyevi Roane (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Chunky Haney (14 points, which included a go ahead basket with :07 seconds to play in regulation and a huge 3 to start OT).

The game was played in front of a huge crowd at Pete Henry gymnasium on the final night of the boys regular season.

Next up - Tournament time

Lexington finishes 18-4 and will play Friday vs the winner of Willard/Galion, while Senior High, ends on a hot streak, winners of 4 in a row, 7 of 9 and 8 of their last 11, they will play Norwalk on Wednesday at Bucyrus at 7:30 pm. You can hear both games on WMAN.
