2023 Spending Plan Approved By Ashland City Council For $75 Million

In Ashland, City Council has approved the spending plan for the remainder of this year.

RichlandSource.com reports, the ok was given this week to spend nearly $76 million, which is just over 5% more than in 2022.

Ashland mayor Matt Miller cited a few reasons for the rise in spending, which included the repaving of Claremont Avenue and the increase in medical insurance costs and union wage increases.

Ashland Finance Director, Larry Paxton, said, the passing of the budget in the first week of February is the quickest ever in city history.
