Mansfield Metropolitan Housing Director Let Go, Mayor May Take Legal Action

The executive director of the Mansfield Metropolitan Housing Authority has his contract terminated this week.

According to RichlandSource.com, the vote came on Tuesday to fire Steve Andrews, who was set to see his contract expire in June. Three board members declined to comment on the reason for the move, while the other two board members were not at the meeting. One of the absent board members called the move "ridiculous".

Mayor Tim Theaker, earlier this month, asked for two of the board members to resign and if they don't, could take legal action to do so. Theaker said, Andrews has done a good job since he took over in 2021.
