Mansfield City Council next week is expected to vote to place a ½ percent income tax on the May ballot for their safety forces.
According to RichlandSource.com, it would support the police and fire departments, along with the 9-1-1 dispatch center. The 4 year renewal, if approved by council, would appear on the May 2nd ballot and was first passed back in 1998. The tax would generate $8.8. million, which is about 1/3 of the overall operating for Mansfield’s safety forces.
