One of two signs on bridges over top of US 30, welcoming drivers to Mansfield, is now in place.

According to RichlandSource.com, the signs will be viewed by 32,000 motorists daily and the one over Fifth Ave is up, while the 2nd sign, which will be placed soon on the bridge over Trimble Road, has saw the contractor run into some issues, causing the delay.

The signs are 72 feet wide and made of galvanized steel, which one local official said can encourage people to stop, shop and visit.

The Richland County Regional Planning Commission spent $200,000 of state grant funding to upgrade to the decorative railing with the letters “Mansfield.”
