Shelby Attorney Steps Down From Board Of Elections To Run For Judge

A Shelby attorney has stepped down from the Richland County Board of Elections and plans to run for judge next year.

According to RichlandSource.com, J.C. Elgin resigned from the Board of Elections, which he had served on since 2021. Elgin says he is going to run for Shelby Municipal Court judge in 2023. Richland County Board of Elections Director Matt Finfgeld said the Richland County Democrat party is scheduled to gather on January 5th to select a new board member.
