Mansfield City Council Pushes Vote On Water Rate Increase To January

Mansfield City Council this week, did not vote on the proposed water rate increase and instead, has pushed the vote back until January 3rd.

RichlandSource.com reports, members of council told the administration, they need to show residents why there is a need for an additional $3.4 million per year in revenue.

Engineer Bob Bianchi stated, there is no water infrastructure capital budget without an increase. He also said, earlier this fall, the current rates do not put them in a place to replace water mains. Prior to 2021, Mansfield had gone 17 years without an increase.
