Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield Senior High School went into lockdown on Friday morning, after the district alerted parents and guardians of a potential safety threat.
Mansfield Police told RichlandSource.com, there was no active threat, but the lockdown took place after a handgun magazine was found on school grounds. Police said a juvenile was identified as the person who brought the magazine onto the campus. Police are looking for the location of the gun and why it was brought onto school grounds.
