Longtime Ashland University head football coach Lee Owens announced his retirement on Friday.
The 66 year old Owens has spent the last 19 years as Eagles head coach and just recently led AU to the conference title and a 2nd round playoff berth.
The University says Associate head coach, Doug Geiser will serve as interim head coach.
Owens in 18 years at Ashland, led them to 4 conference titles and 6 – Div II playoff appearances, with a total of 137 wins.
