Bill Harris Dealerships of Ashland, Ohio, bought its first Ford dealership this week with the purchase of Cal Hans Ford.
Bill Harris Dealerships Dealer Principal Aaron Harris said his group bought the Ford dealership on Monday, which is located at 506 E Washington St in Loudonville just off Route 3. The seller was Linda Hans of Cal Hans Ford.
Harris said his group is "constantly growing" and as they grow, they have the need to expand, the proximity and shared values of the seller made the decision natural when Hans reached out about the possibility of the sale. Harris said he and his business partners Scott Harris and David Harris are “excited to expand the business and what the expansion of the business can provide the local community,”
"We felt Ford would be a great compliment to our existing all-American line up of Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram," Harris told WMAN. "We are excited about bringing our business philosophy to Loudonville and giving the community another location to have a world class vehicle ownership experience right here in Ashland County"
Cal Hans Ford was founded in 1989 and was succeeded in Cal’s passing by his wife Linda in 1997. Linda and son Kevin had many shared core values to the Harris group, now in its third generation, Harris said. The Harris business began in 1981 with the Chevrolet store in Ashland founded by the late Senator Bill Harris Sr.
“Both the Harris and Hans families put customer satisfaction, community support and serving the people of the dealerships at the forefront,” Harris said in a statement.
The dealership was renamed Bill Harris Ford according to Harris. Bill Harris Ford will offer the full line of new Ford vehicles along with a vast selection of quality pre-owned vehicles. Parts and Service hours are to expand and will offer maintenance, warranty, and repair work to best serve the community. Bill Harris Dealerships now has 3 rooftops across Ashland County. The group's last acquisition came in 2005 , Harris said, with the purchase of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership that has become one of the regions highest performing stores in areas of sales volume and customer satisfaction.
