The Richland County Commissioners have received preliminary budgets for 2023 from some officials in various county departments, which due to inflation, has shown some requests already higher than the current year.
One of them is the Richland County Sheriff budget for 2023, which is 20% higher with a request of $18.8 million to operate everything in the department, including 911 and the jail.
RichlandSource.com reports, in 2020 the Sheriff fuel budget was $89,000, next year’s request due to soaring gas prices, is $200,000.
