Troy Township – The Mansfield Post is investigating a fatal crash which occurred on SR 97 at Gass Road, Troy Township, Richland County. The crash was reported at 6:05 PM on October 23, 2022. The preliminary investigation shows a 2007 Ford Fusion being driven by Trenton Hoffer, 20 years old, Mansfield, Ohio, was traveling east on SR 97. Two motorcycles were traveling west on SR 97. A 1998 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, driven by Jeffrey D. Kight, 60 years old, Marion, Ohio, and a 1999 Harley Davidson Night Train, driven by Scott T. Bullion, 54 years old, Marion, Ohio. The 2007 Ford Fusion failed to yield while turning left onto Gass Road striking both motorcycles. Mr. Kight, Mr. Bullion, and a female occupant of the 2007 Ford Fusion were transported to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, Mr. Kight and Mr. Bullion with serious injuries. Mr. Kight passed away at the hospital. The Mansfield Post continues to investigate the crash.
