In Shelby this week, several students at Pioneer Career and Technology Center reported to school officials they received an anonymous “air drop” during lunch that referenced a threat to the school after dismissal time. The threat did not mention Pioneer directly, but the school took precautionary measures by contacting the Richland County Sheriff and Ontario Police Department to ensure student safety. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to Pioneer Superintendent Greg Nickoli.
